What Is This Huntington Chicken You Speak Of?

Happy Ordering Day!

So one of the most popular questions I've received is "what is Huntington chicken?" To be fair I will share a little downfall about my recipe designing. I have this horrible habit of scanning recipes and going YUM sounds good to me! It falls into the category of not knowing all the lyrics to all the songs and making up my own verse. In looking at this dish I did the mental note.

Chicken - check
Cheese - check check
Pasta Shells - oh yeah!

=

NOMNOMNOM.

I will have you know exactly what Huntington Chicken is. While putting this together you cook chicken breast. Chop into bite size pieces. Cook pasta as one normally cooks pasta. Add Chicken broth and flour mix together. {INSERT LOUD RECORD SCRATCH} Wait what? This calls for a gravy? With pasta? HOW DID I MISS THAT? I will admit that with great trepidation I continued on with this dish. Added a little bread crumb on top and baked it for 30 minutes.

Prior to placing this questionable dish I explained to Mr. G that I was unsure about this dinner so if it's a fail we can get pizza. My fail safe bribe.

I have to say this dish is AMAZING!! It was cheesy as you would expect Mac N Cheese to be and was not as I feared pasta drowning in gravy. Totally delicious. To categorize this I would say that this is total comfort food. The second category GUY FOOD. Guy's I promise you this one is a winner for belly.

So that friends is exactly what Huntington Chicken is. Happy Friday Eve!! And don't forget today is ORDER DAY!!!! wooo woooooo.

You've Got Questions? We've Got Answers

Hi All! Questions are good. And if one person has a question somebody else out there might have the same one.

So here we go:

Order PROCESSING: We are requesting that people place orders on the Thursday before the following week. So for this week we are asking that people place their orders by September 26th for the week of September 30th - to October 4th. For the week of October 7th we would like to have all orders placed by October 3rd. Or to simplify. Thursdays will always be the final order days for the following week. Now, with that being said. We will always have extras on hand, however, when we sell out we sell out. You can tell us what you want to order ahead of time for the entire month if you like. You don't have to pay us until you pick up your order. Whichever is most convenient for you.
I will attach a PDF version of this months menu on the side bar of the blog so you can view the full month.

How Do I Place An Order: You can email orders@popitintheoven.com or call 207-475-4689. Please do not order via facebook. They will get lost and we may not see that you have requested something.

What is a JOE FROGGER? - Molasses Cookie

What is Huntington Chicken? Homemade Mac N Cheese with Chicken

What is Grilled Cheese Sandwich Pie? Bacon / Ham / Muenster Cheese baked with egg. (Quiche) and its wicked good by the way!

We plan on the prices staying the same unless something drastic happens. We will provide notice for any changes.

I hope this helps and keep the questions coming!

Traip Academy Ranger's Programs

Can't you just smell the goodness? We've been busy putting marketing materials together to start getting the word out. Keep an eye out as we have an add in the program PLUS our menu's will be in there as well. The ad's for the Ranger's Programs go to support the Friends of Football. I was happy to be part of this for the 2013 football season and thank you to those who let me know there was space available.

Speaking of football. I attended my first High School football game in I don't know how many years! I have to say, there is something exciting about chilly weather "hot dogs" and watching a football game. Good times.

Just to keep your stomach grrrring a bit you should know I have been pouring over books related specifically to "Pot Pies". I have to say these recipes make me hungry just thinking about them. Last week I attempted a Tortellini Pancetta pie. And it was with no exaggeration ...... amazing! Homemade crust that was to die for. My husband has declared this his "favorite dish ever". That's no small task considering this list is long.

Don't forget our open house is on Tuesday September 24th from 5 PM to 7 PM. Yummy samples for you to try and graze on!

GO RANGERS!!!!!

See you there!

All The Ways To Utilize Pop it IN the Oven

Processed dinners and the frozen food market is expected to reach close to $300 Billion by 2019 according to market research conducted by Transparency Market Research. Families are challenged with two working parents, sports, activities, travel and a number of various other reasons.

It is hard to make the time to cook a dinner that is healthy and not packed with chemicals to keep the meal edible with the equivalent of a twinkie. {although seriously who doesn't secretly love twinkies?] Over 20% of the American population from a report in Huffington Post sited that they don't have time to plan, grocery shop and put the dinner together plus the added clean up when the meal is completed.

One thing Pop it IN the Oven recognizes is people are busy. This is where we come in. Our dinners are made fresh every week. No crazy preservatives added and a monthly menu plan that will assist you in deciding which nights will work best for you. We take care of the planning, shopping, prepping, cooking and cleaning so all you have to do is enjoy a delicious dinner.

Our services cater to so many different areas.

  • A new Mom and Dad coming home with a baby.
  • Elder parents that may not be able to get out and shop.
  • Sports Season with the kids.
  • Holiday Season - we barely have time to shop, wrap, go to the airport, prepare for house guest!
  • Working outside of the 8 to 5.
  • Dinner can be ready so you can sit down and relax.
Anything that comes up regarding planning your meals please feel free to call us at 207-475-4689 or email renee@popitintheoven.com. We want to work with you to accommodate your requirements as best we can. You can also post a comment below.

And don't forget to look at the menu for the week of 9/30 on our website! We are currently accepting orders for that week up until 9/26.

The First Blog Post!

Good Morning all. Here we are with our very first blog posting. What an amazing month this has been! So, the question you are all asking is. How do we order? Every Saturday we will be posting the "weekly" menu on our website PopitINtheoven, Facebook & this Blog site. We will also have a hard copy monthly calendar that you can pick up. Think of the school lunch calendar. This is your personal food calendar. Every Thursday we ask that you have your order placed for the following week. For example: Food orders will be ready to pick up on September 30th {which is a Monday} we are asking that all orders for that week be placed no later than September 26th {which is a Thursday}. This will help us eliminate any waste and allow us to buy what we need. But don't worry!! we know that there are times when you don't have time to do it all. We will have "some" available meals. Orders can be placed by calling 207-475-4689. If you end up going to voicemail please leave a message for your order. You can leave a call back number to confirm. Or, you can email at orders@popitintheoven.com we will reply with a confirmation email for you.

As of right now Pop it IN the Oven will be running out of Paula's Circle Subs. The address is 167 State Road Kittery Maine 03904. You can pick up your order between 3 PM and 7 PM Monday - Friday.

For any questions, comments, concerns PLEASE email renee@popitintheoven.com.

As for the blog side of the business. This is the creative HUB of all things yummy. We value your input and be ready because we have good stuff in store for you.

New logos and print material will be finalized mid week. We had a logo change that gave us a little hiccup over the weekend.

That's all for today friends!
Keep Calm and Dinner ON!
